European style 55-gallon plastic drums have steadily increased in numbers worldwide, especially among importers of fruit juices and other food products. Having a much larger lid or lifting chime, they are typically double stacked without pallets in overseas shipping containers and manhandled to be unloaded. At time of order, these Eagle-Poly Grip attachments are designed to handle either one or two 55-gallon containers at a time, at up to 800 lbs. (363 kg) per drum, using clamping arms which wrap around the tapered bottom sides of the drum(s). This attachment slides onto the forks of any lift truck. Their fully automatic mechanical design requires no electrical or hydraulic connections to the lift truck. A safety chain with cam lock secures the attachment to the lift truck carriage in seconds. An EPG1-F is also available for handling a single European-style drum at a time.
