The Eagle-Grip® EL4F Heavy-Duty / High Volume fork mount attachment is all-mechanical and capable of handling one to four fully loaded 1,500 lb. (680 kg) steel, plastic, or fiber drums at a time (for an overall capacity of 6,000 lbs.) without the need for hydraulic or electrical connections to the lift truck. It’s the ideal attachment for loading or unloading trailers, oversea shipping containers or for palletizing drums from filling lines. Consists of a floating head with a centering guide which helps properly position the clamping mechanism in place, while lowering the attachment between up to 4 drums. Once fully lowered, raising the attachment activates the clamping mechanisms which securely grip the drums in place for transportation over dock plates and other unlevel surfaces. To release the drum(s), fully lower the drum or drums onto a pallet or floor. Then, elevate the center guide upward. This motion will disengage the clamping mechanisms from the chimes of the drum(s). In lieu of fork mount models, EL4’s are also available as a Class II carriage mount (CM), and overhead hoist (C) models.
